The long pending demand of the Punjab State District(D.C.) offices Employees Union pertaining the promotions of Superintendent Grade-II as Superintendent Grade-I, has been fulfilled within a week after the representatives of the Union met the State Revenue Minister, Mr. Gurpreet Singh Kangar.Giving details the Revenue Minister said that the representatives of the Union met him on June 20, 2019 and had called off their strike at his assurance of resolving their long pending issue of promotion of employees. In line with this, the Divisional Commissioners of Roopnagar, Patiala, Faridkot, Ferozepur and Jalandhar Divisions were called with record of the employees so that their seniority issues may be resolved.  The officers presented the seniority lists of their respective divisions .Thereafter, the promotion of Superintendent Grade-II as Superintendent Grade-I from the two divisions namely were Patiala and Jalandhar were accepted, being complete in all respects. The formal promotion orders would be issued on June 27, after the meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC), said Mr. Kangar and the other Divisional Commissioners have been directed to take it up on priority and furnish the promotion lists by the first week of July, he informed. Thereafter, the meeting of DPC would be held on July 10, to finally clear the backlog of promotions of employees falling under this category in the offices of all the Deputy Commissioners.

He said that Chief Minister Punjab, Captain Amrinder Singh is concerned about the demands of the Employees and has asked all the Ministers to look into early resolution of same. Complying by the directions of the Chief Minister, Revenue Department is looking into all the issues of the employees so that maximum relief may be provided to them.He informed that by introducing a novel grievance redressal mechanism within the department, he has done away with the system of sending employee unions back with promise to look into demands. Instead, he has directed the Financial Commissioner Revenue to present a fortnightly Action Taken Report in black and white, a copy of which can be availed by the Union heads so that they may be kept abreast with the department’s effort put into redressing their grievances. This would give the employees a fair idea into the timeframe required to resolve their issues and would also check undue unrest among them which generally arises out of their waiting in dark about the action taken by the department.Mrs. Kalpana Mittal Baruah,FCR, Mr. Rajkamal Chaudhary , Mr. Dipinder Singh, Mr. Rawinder Kumar Kaushik, Mr. S.S.
