A delegation of Himachal Pradesh Medical Officers Association (HPMOA) led by President Dr. Jeevanand Chauhan met Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur here today and apprised him about the incident of assault on female medical officer of Primary Health Centre, Thachi and urged to nab the culprits and taking stern action against them.They also requested the Chief Minister to revoke the suspension of Block Medical Officer, Ghumarwin in Bilaspur district and demanded that CCTV cameras should be provided up to Primary Health Centres to ensure safety of officials of the health institutions so that they could   render their services fearlessly. The Association demanded that sufficient staff should be provided in those hospitals where 24 hours health services are being provided.  It also raised the demand of issuing Mediperson Act at the earliest.The Chief Minister assured the delegation that impartial inquiry would be conducted into the incident of assault on female medical officer and stringent action would be taken against the erring persons. He also assured that demand of installation of CCTV cameras, alarming hooters up to PHCs would be considered sympathetically.Earlier, the delegation also met Health Minister Vipin Parmar and raised their demands before him.After getting assurance from Chief Minister and Health Minister for considering their demands sympathetically, the Association decided to call off their agitation and assured that normal health services would be restored from Friday itself.
