In another major crackdown, Ropar police has nabbed Akashey Pehlwan @ Kali after an exchange of fire in Nurpurbedi area. He was nabbed as he ran out of bullets by teams of CIA and local police. 19 years of age, Akashey is wanted in public and gruesome murder cases in Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan.He was jailed in Sept, 2015 for 18 months for three gruesome murder cases in Sonipat (Haryana). Being a minor, he was on bail since 2017. Once out of jail he got associated with a gangster named Raju Bisaudi of Sonipat, based in Delhi. Here, he was involved in 3 murders and cases of loot and extortion. He ran an organised extortion racket of cattle smuggling in Haryana and Western Uttar Pardesh.In last two years, he also got associated with Lawrence Bishnoi (jailed gangster). Along with members of this gang, he committed 4 murders and 6 highway robberies. After being released from jail in March, 2017, he has committed 10 highway robberies and looted nearly 50 lacs.In September, 2015 he shot father and son duo in a busy market place in Kundli, Sonipat.
Alongwith his gang members, he shot two persons in the court of JMIC, Rajgarh, Churu (Rajasthan) in January, 2018. Later in June, 2018, Jorden (rival gang member) was shot in a gym in Hanumangarh (Rajasthan).The social media accounts of this gang are being operated by one of their former associate based in Canada. Investigation reveals that several of their associates have left the country on fake passports and documents. It has been observed that all murders committed were either the result of inter gang rivalry or ‘supari’ killing.Psychoanalysis and factual finding about the functioning of these gangsters reveal that they use to feel pride in committing murder and pumping maximum numbers of bullets.Ropar SSP Swapan Sharma, shared, “Akshey was planning to kill a person in Sonipat due to an old rivalry. He had already done a recce to execute the killing. He visited Nurpurbedi area of Ropar district to arrange weapons and logistic support. Three pistols of 32 bore and ammunition has been recovered from his possession.”In last ten months, 9 gangsters have been apprehended by Ropar police. These include areas specific gangsters and sharp shooter of Khanna, Fatehgarh Sahib, Tarantaran and Nanded (Maharashtra).
