Graffiti Art, Wall Paintings And Intersection’s Revitalization To Give New Look To Ferozepur City

A Unique Initiative By Deputy Commissioner Gives A Major Facelift To Martyrs' City

The Ferozepur city, also known as a city of martyrs is all set to have new elegant look with strings of beautification works initiated by deputy commissioner Mr. Chander Gaind. The graffiti art, wall paintings, and intersection’s revitalization with large statues resembling Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao movement will give a ample look to the historic city. All these developments works are being carried out without any burden on the public exchequer as these beautification works are getting done with the help of privates firm under various CSR projects.The Basti Tenkan wali railway under the bridge (RUB) lately got graffiti art all over its wall, where colorful flowers painted on walls holding the attention of every passerby leaving a mesmerising impression.This is the first ever attempt made to beautify the city with graffiti arts and wall paintings, which is being highly appreciated by the people of Ferozepur.Similarly, the mall road of the city is also being maintained by the shopkeepers as they are having private sanitation works by their own monthly contribution. The market association is maintaining around 70 sanitation works on their own expense to keep the mall road clean and green.In another beautification project, the main road dividers are being painted by HDFC bank under its CSR project.  

As a major facelift, the two main interactions of the city are soon goint the get large statues of a mother-daughter, which will spread the message of Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao. The first statue is going to be set up at Chungi no. 7 intersection and the other one on the next intersection. At the first intersection a large statue of a mother holding her daughter in her hands will be set up whereas at the next intersection the statue of a girl surrounded by book will be set up, which will show that the girl has grown up and also getting the education and she is excellent in studies. Both the statues are setting up by DMC group of Schools and Vivekananda schools.In another attempt the whopping amount of Rs. 20 Crore has been approved under various CSR projects for the Ferozepur city to undergo multiple projects. This hefty amount will be spent on installing the RO system in the government schools of the district, to install sanitation napkins vending machines and to set up new Anganbadi centers in the Ferozepur. A sum of five crore rupees has been received as a first installment and the rest will be arriving soon.Being a pivot of the all these projects, the deputy commissioner Mr. Chander Gaind said that his mission was to make Ferozepur city one on the beautiful city of Punjab and carry forward its historic legacy, and also develop it into a major tourist spot. Whatever time he had left in the Ferozepur city as a deputy commissioner, will only be spent for the up-gradation of the district, he remarked. Like a government, the people of the city have equal responsibility to make city beautiful and keep it clean and green, the deputy commissioner said.
