ADGP Traffic, Punjab Sharad Satya Chauhan today flagged off 100 motor cycles for beat patrolling under the mission 'Tandrust Punjab' initiated by the Punjab government. A function called 'Beat Patrolling Bikes Flag off Ceremony' was organized here at Sports Stadium Sector 78. These bikes have been provided by the Honda Company, which will be used for beat patrolling throughout Punjab.In a keynote address, Mr. Chauhan said that we were losing 10 to 12 men in road accidents per day in the state, while the figures of entire country are very much shocking. He said that we have lost many lives in road accidents in a month than wars. Traffic police have now decided to identify the Blind Spots (Accident Prone Areas) to eradicate this menace from roots, under which two drones will be deployed in Mohali city and MoU has been signed up in this regard with a private company.
Sharad Satya Chauhan further said that after identification of the spots, the reasons behind the accidents will revealed. He said that with the help of these motor bikes, the sense of security will crop up among the people. Police will also be able to reach the crowded places with the help of these bikes.During this function, Director, Honda Motor Cycle and Scooter India Private Limited, Mr. Harbhajan Singh said that Public Announcement System, Flash Lights, Siren and other equipments have been installed on these bikes which are required during beat patrolling.Other dignitaries who were present on this occasion are IGP Traffic Punjab Mr. SK Singh, SSP of SAS Nagar Mr. Harcharan Singh, SP (Headquarters) Gursewak Singh, SP (D) Varun Sharma and SP (City) Harwinder Virk.
