Punjab Rural Development Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa said this border state that has been known as the sword-arm of the country can’t afford another war with Pakistan.Addressing a political conference in this town in the border district of Gurdaspur that is mini-India and symbol of communal harmony inhabited by Sikhs, Hindus, Muslims and Christians, he said every time tension rises on the border, villages have to be evacuated. He said unlike other borders, villages in this region are there right upto zero line and fields are cultivated on the other of the fence too. This is different from Gujarat, the home state of war-monger Prime Minister Narendra Modi.He said it was trade from Attari-Wagha border that had suffered following 200 per cent import duty and not from Mumbai port. He said there were reasons as to why free trade was not being allowed from this point as it would hit business of Mumbai port that handles main imports-exports with Pakistan. He said there seemed to be design behind all this.Bajwa lashed out at Modi saying it was for the first time that a government at the centre was using ED, CBI and taxation department as political weapon. Even media had been silenced into submission and voices of dissent crushed.He said like the alliance partner Akali Dal, Modi had reduced the Bharatiya Janata Party to Modi-Amit Shah party by reducing all other leaders to non-entities. He said in Punjab, the Akali Dal with glorious history had been converted to Badal and Badal limited.He appealed to the people to send Congress candidate Sunil Jakhar to effectively represent them in the Lok Sabha. He said the BJP-Akali Dal alliance candidate Sunny Deol who is a film star can’t deliver even a two sentence speech and such can’t be their voice.
