Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the Congress party ruled the country for nearly six decades but could not ensure the welfare of the poor whereas the Narendra Modi government started various welfare schemes during its five-year tenure which are proving to be a boon for the people. He was addressing a public meeting in the Karasog Assembly segment of Mandi parliamentary constituency today.He said that the country needs a government which ensures development not scams. The Congress leaders when in the in the center, made lakhs of crores of scams and the people had to crave for their rights. The people have realized in the regime of Modi-led government that today's country is in the hands a government which is strong and take the nation ahead on the path of the development. The image of India has improved under the dynamic leadership of Narendra Modi and today the country is judged amongst the strong and most developing countries.
The Chief Minister said that people again want to see Narendra Modi as the Prime of India as this government took the nation to such heights of development which the Congress could not in 60 years. There was Modi during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections but this time there is a tsunami of Modi and the leaders of the Opposition have gone astray. They are using rude language in grin and trying to mislead the public by making false statements. But the people have decided to give suitable reply to the Congress and the BJP will win by full majority in these elections.Jai Ram Thakur said that slogans in favour of Modi are being heard in the road show of the Congress and the Congress leaders can see their defeat. The Opposition parties had to compel the coalition due to fear of humiliating defeat and now they are indulged in filthy politics to grab the power.He said that BJP candidate Mandi parliamentary constituency Ram Swaroop Sharma is an honest person who has made commendable efforts to fulfil the aspirations of the people. The Chief Minister urged the people to support him wholeheartedly in the Lok Sabha election.Later, the Chief Minister also addressed a public meeting at Garsa under Banjar assembly constituency of Kullu district and urged the people to support BJP candidate.Forest Minister Govind Thakur, BJP candidate Ram Swaroop Sharma, local MLA Surendra Shourie, BJP office bearers, workers and others were also present there.
