Chief Secretary B.K. Agarwal during his recent two days visit to New Delhi held a meeting with High Commissioner of Malaysia Dr. Dato’ Hidayat Abdul Hamid and invited him to attend the Global Investors Meet being held at Dharamshala in September 2019 along with a business delegation and sought cooperation of the Embassy to encourage investment from leading companies of Malaysia. He informed him that state government is focusing on Hydro-electricity & MPP, horticulture and food processing, tourism, healthcare and wellness centres, urban development and housing, IT & electronics and pharmaceuticals sectors for Himachal Pradesh-Malaysia investment partnership. He said that the State would consider doing a road show in Malaysia.The High Commissioner of Malaysia thanked the Chief Secretary for the invitation and welcomed the idea of conducting road show in collaboration with CII and Chamber of Business. As Malaysia has a huge Buddhist population and many adventure seekers, he expressed hope that Buddhist Tourist Circuit and adventure tourism can be a point of common interest between Malaysia and Himachal Pradesh, he added.Principal Resident Commissioner of H.P at New Delhi Sanjay Kundu, and Director-CII Amitabh Srivastava accompanied the Chief Secretary whereas Minister (Economic Affairs) Mr. Ezral Bin Uzaimi, First Secretary (Economic Affairs) Mr. Ibrahim Helmi Abdullah accompanied the High Commissioner of Malaysia.
