Governor Acharya Devvrat has released the poster of a short documentary film DAN- The Himalayan Ibex, presented by Himalayan Velocity and directed by Himachal based filmmakers Dev Kanya Thakur and Pushp Raj Thakur at Raj Bhawan, Shimla, today. It’s a short wildlife documentary on Himalayan Ibex which is called Dan in Lahauli dialect and Tangrol in Hindi and this rare animal is found in the upper Himalayan region. Local women have played an important role in the protection and conservation of this animal, which has been shown in this documentary.The Governor appreciated the efforts of the filmmakers and hope that others would also be inspired to protect this endangered animal.Dev Kanya Thakur apprised that this film has been already shortlisted in many environmental and wildlife film festivals in India.
