Reviewing the election preparedness of the state for ensuing General Elections next month, Special Observer Raghav Chandra on Tuesday expressed satisfaction and confidence that the forthcoming polls would be held in a free, fair and transparent manner. Chairing the review meeting with officers of Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) office Punjab here today, Raghav Chandra took stock of overall poll preparedness including adequate availability of EVMs, Emphasizing the need to ensure foolproof security measures at all booths across the state which goes to polls on May 19 in the last phase of 7-round elections, Raghav Chandra discussed the issue with the ADG Elections. Chandra also reviewed the total seizure of cash, liquor, opiods, arms and ammunition during the code period.During the meeting, CEO Dr. S. Karuna Raju apprised the Special Observor regarding the arrangements being made at all polling booths, training of polling personnel, webcasting of booths, C-vigil App, Suvidha App, NGSP and monitoring of print, electronic and social media.He also informed the meeting that so far 95% of licensed arms had been deposited and rest would be done soon.ADGP cum Nodal Officer for election Mr. R.N. Dhoke IPS, additional CEO Kavita Singh, additional CEO Sibin C., additional CEO Gurpal singh Chahal, and Joint CEO Karnail Singh were also present in the meeting.
