Aiming to sensitize the people about the importance of the right to vote and motivate them to actively participate in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls, SDM-II Mr Paramvir Singh on Monday flagged off an awareness van for Kartarpur town.Divulging the details, Mr Paramvir Singh said that the van would create awareness among the people about their voting rights given by the constitution. He said that the van is fitted with an audio system which would cover the villages in Kartarpur and would spread the message of ethical voting to the masses.SDM also said that this medium is also being widely utilized for generating maximum awareness amongst the masses in other areas so that all the voters could participate in the ongoing democratic process. However, he said that those who have not still registered as voters can apply for the vote till April 19th and can become active partners in the democratic system. Mr Singh told that they can register them as voters through a single click on their computer or mobile, way back from their home.Further, the Election Commission of India has also launched National Voter Services Portal (NVSP) and Voter Helpline App and they can get more information by dialling toll-free number 1950, he added. On the occasion,  Kartarpur SVEEP Nodal Officer Mr Des Raj, Mr Harbans Lal, Mr Naveen Sharma and others were present.
