District Election Officer, Ramban; Showkat Aijaz Bhat today held a meeting with the representatives of various national and regional political parties and apprised them about the rules.SSP, Anita Sharma, ADC, Dr. Basharat Hussain, Dy. DEO and various other officers attended the meeting.The DEO informed the representatives of the political parties about the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and urged them to follow the rules strictly.He said that all the arrangements have been put in place to ensure free and fair elections and said that different committees have been constituted to check the implementation of MCC and have been briefed about the model code of conduct, their role in monitoring the expenditure, putting up of flags, banners, the size of banners, the time of their installation and removal.SSP informed the representatives that all arrangements regarding security are in place to ensure free, fair, peaceful and accessible elections.The representatives put forth their suggestions and issues regarding availability of basic minimum facilities in polling stations, electoral rolls. The DEO assured them that their issues will be addressed on priority in light of ECI guidelines. Later, DEO also reviewed security arrangement in a separate meeting of security agencies which was attended by officers of Army, CRPF, IRP and JK Police.
