Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab Dr. S. Karuna Raju today met with representative of different political. In this meeting representatives of Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal, Aam Adami Party, Communist Party of India and Bharti Janta Party were present.Addressing the meeting Dr. Raju said that special camps will be organized on 2nd and 3rd march 2019 at all polling stations to give last opportunity to the un-enrolled eligible citizens to register himself/herself as voter. He also said that during this campaign the main focus is on removal of repeat/multiple entries/ demographically similar entries from electoral rolls. Removal of permanently shifted electors and deceased electors would also be focused.CEO has appealed to the leaders of the political parties that they will ask their district units to must appoint BLA booth vise as early as possible.During the meeting Dr. Raju informed the political parties regarding form 26 and form A&B in detail. He said that the affidavit in form 26 and form A&B have to be filed latest by 3:00 P.M. on the last date of filing nominations. If columns have been left blank in the affidavit in form 26, Candidate should be asked to submit an affidavit complete in all respect, latest by the time fixed for commencement of scrutiny of nominations. Failure to submit revised affidavit complete in all respects, even after reminder by RO will be a ground for rejection of the nomination paper.He further said that Oath has to be taken after filling the nomination paper and before the date fixed for the scrutiny and certified extract of electoral roll can be filed up to the time of scrutiny.
