Commissioner Secretary Forests, M.K. Dwivedi, today released calendar ‘Jewels in Wilderness’ on high altitude lakes of wildlife protected areas in the state at an impressive function organized by the Wildlife Protection Department at Nature Interpretation Centre,  Manda here.The programme was organized as part of the series of events associated with World Wildlife Day. Officers and field staff of Forest, Wildlife, and Social Forestry, SFRI, SFC and allied wings participated in the function.On the occasion, Commissioner Secretary appreciated the efforts and initiatives being taken by the Wildlife Protection Department for protection and propagation of wildlife in the state. He also assured to resolve the human resource issues of the Forest, Wildlife and allied Departments engaged in the sensitive job of protecting environment and forests.Suresh Kumar Chug, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and O.P. Sharma, Director State Forest Research Institute also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the initiatives being taken by the Wildlife Protection Department and appealed civil society for supporting the department in protecting and conservation of wildlife.Suresh Gupta, Chief Wildlife Warden J&K assured that the Department will take necessary steps very vigorously to protect the unique wildlife and habitat throughout the state.Tahir Shawl Regional Wildlife Warden Jammu welcomed the officers and participants and highlighting the importance of celebrating World Wildlife Day.Beside other field staff of the Wildlife Protection Department, the programme was also attended by Neelu Gera Director Social Forestry, Sameer Bharti CCF Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, Secretary Technical and other senior officers of the Forest Department and its allied wings.
