While keeping its promise, Punjab Government is working towards youth employment. The Punjab Government is full of bidding on its Employment promise and we are proud to state the figures that till now 5,35,000 jobs opportunities has been provided to the young generation of Punjab. It is matters of great significance that even thousands of Government Sector jobs also have been placed for Punjabi Youths and recruited youngsters successfully. He appreciated that TATA TECHNOLOGIES & IKGPTU is investing more than Rs 630 crore on the initiative of State Govt. so far to uplift the standard of technical education and above all a double target has been fixed for next phase, includes skill education. These facts are shared by Cabinet Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, Minister for Technical Education and Industrial Training, Govt. of Punjab. He was inaugurating the fourth state-level Job fair at I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University on Wednesday. Minister Channi joined this event as Chief Guest.Minister Channi said that the Punjab Government is going to organize upto 75 Mega Job fairs in this fourth phase of State Job Fairs in Total 10 places. In this phase under Scheme "Ghar-Ghar Rozgar" government's target is to provide maximum job opportunities to 10th, +12, diploma, Graduate & post graduate level students. He said that the students related to higher studies already have opportunities at their institution level but less qualified aspirants have fewer opportunities so Government is now focusing on it.

Minister Channi shared that Tata Technologies in collaboration with IKGPTU achieved its target by establishing Center for Innovation, Invention & Incubation (CIIITs) in its main campus. He personally visited the area of computer labs related to CIIIT. Minister also gone through the machines provided by TATA TECHNOLOGIES at CIIIT. It is worth mentioning that to promote the technical education and Skill development in the state of Punjab, TATA Technologies & IKG PTU were signed an MoU in the month of September 2018 at a cost of Rs. 739 Crore. Under this MoU total 05 numbers of CIIITs was targeted to establish in the state. These CIIIT were dedicated to Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji's 550th birth anniversary. Minister Channi also interacted to participants and representatives of companies during this mega job fair.Addressing the inaugural session, Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma informed that total 52 companies of various sectors are participating in this 04th Job fair. There are more than 2500 employment opportunities being provided by these companies. Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Sharma said that the CIIIT of Tata Technologies in collaboration with the Punjab Government at the university will be proves as milestone in the future for the University and its students. He further added that IKGPTU is ready to take more initiatives under the umbrella of State Government to develop this state as skilled and fully employed.On this occasion, Dean RIC Dr. A.P. Singh delivered the vote of thanks to Chief Guest, also to the company's representatives and students. He also thanked to District Administration. From University side Registrar Dr. Sukhbir Singh Ahluwalia, Director Academic Dr. Balkar Singh, Joint Registrar, Dr. RPS Bedi, Incharge Vice Chancellor Secretariat Dr. Paramjit Singh and other were present. From District Administration side ADC Avtar Singh Bhullar & District Employment Officer was also attended the event.
