92 Villages Of Fatehgarh Sahib To Drink Canal Water, Project Costing Rs.111.53 Crore Begins Soon

'The work on setting up a canal-based drinking water project to ensure the supply of safe drinking water to the residents of 92 villages of the district will begin soon.' This was disclosed by Jaspreet Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner while presiding over the meeting of the officials of various departments here at Bachat Bhawan. He said, 'This is the world bank funded project and it will cost Rs.111.53 crore. The plan regarding this project is ready.'The Additional Deputy Commissioner said that to solve the problems related with water supply in the district various other projects would also be launched soon. 05 villages would be covered under the scheme of NABARD, 01 under NRDWP, 02 under Sub Component-1 A of World Bank and 06 villages would be covered under Sub Component-2 A of World Bank for the water supply projects. He had issued instructions to the officials regarding all the water supply projects.The A.D.C. further disclosed that 55 applications for water supply connections and 347 for the construction of the toilets which were received during the camps organized under MGSVY have been cleared and the work was in progress.He further said that the district administration was committed to provide the benefits of each and every scheme of the government to the eligible beneficiaries.
