Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma has sought support from the Educational Institutions to make Ghar-Ghar Rozgar scheme a huge success by upgrading the skills of unemployed youth.Presiding over a meeting with the representatives of the Educational Institutes, the Deputy Commissioner said that the District Bureau of Employment was receiving a number of applications from the youth for the jobs. He said that the perusal of these applications reflects that most of the unemployed youth were lacking the basic skills required for getting gainfully employed. Mr. Sharma said that this could be overcome only with the proactive support of the educational institutes. 

The Deputy Commissioner asked the educational institutes to depute their representatives which must visit the bureau on rotation basis and give career related tips to the youth. He said that this could be very helpful in upgrading the skills and expertise of the youth thereby immensely benefiting them to get good jobs. Mr. Sharma said that ultimate aim was to create a database of skilled manpower to cater to the needs of the industry.The Deputy Commissioner said that skilled manpower would help in coping with the need of industry on one hand and open new vistas of employment for youth on the other. He said that with the active support of educational institutions, the administration could chalk out roadmap of skilled training program in Jalandhar. Mr. Sharma said that this would also enable the administration for making long term strategy by redefining its priorities for skill training as per the job requirements in the industrial sector of the district. On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Jitendra Jorwal was also present.
