Kashmir safest destination for tourists : Mubarak Gul

Senior National Conference leader and former Speaker Jammu Kashmir Legislative Assembly Mubarak Gul  Monday attended a ceremony organized by ‘Kashmir to Kerala Social Foundation at Mumbai.’ Mubarak Gul was the  Chief Guest on the occasion, who presented awards to about 20 known personalities for their achievement in their respective fields including Mushtaq Chaya (Prominent Businessman), Deepali Watal (Artist) both from J&K State.Addressing the audience on the occasion, Mubarak Gul talked about calamities and said that from Mumbai floods of 2005, to Kashmir Flood 2014 and Kerala Flood 2018 what lessons have we learnt? It’s we humans which are disturbing the nature and unplanned development, deforestation, illegal occupation of wetlands are the main causes of these disasters and we must start initiatives to preserve environment on social and individual level. Talking about the growing drug menace, he said that drug abuse continues to be the major health problem in India and the first and the foremost solution is the prevention. “The Government as well as the social organizations has an important role to play. Strong laws against drug peddlers and proper awareness, rehabilitation of drug abuse victims is the need of the hour,” he said.Mubarak Gul also talked about Tourism and safety of Tourists in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that Kashmir is the safest destination for tourists especially women."J&K is the only state in country with no crime against any tourist or visitors and this proves the spirit of Kashmiriyat which believes in humanity, love and harmony,” Gul said.He said national media should stop propagating lies about Kashmir and people from other Indian states should visit Kashmir and see themselves the reality of Kashmir.“There should be cultural exchange programs between students of other states and J&K,” he said adding thia way people from India will understand Kashmir better.
