The Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday filed a complaint against owner/editor/management of website khabarwaale.com & PTC News for circulating a fake message on its portal claiming therein that WhatsApp messages of Aam Aadmi Party (Core team) has been leaked. A delegation led by LOP Harpal Singh Cheema including Chairman Core Committee Principal Budh Ram, MLA Rupinder Ruby and Kulwant Singh Pandori met IG cyber Cell Hardial Singh Mann and demanded strict action against those responsible for spreading false news.In the complaint, the leader of opposition in Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Harpal Singh Cheema said that website portrayed the Aam Aadmi Party not only in bad limelight but the content played was highly offensive, lascivious, fake and forged. He said that the entire content available on the above website is totally false, fabricated, forged and is propagated with the sole intention of sabotaging the image of Aam Aadmi Party. The content has been manufactured by unscrupulous people with the sole criminal intention to create malice and ill-will against the Aam Aadmi Party.
Cheema said that the Aam Aadmi Party has no connection with the above said news being circulated by the news site and news channel and the act was done to tarnish the image of the Party as the transcripts are very much against the ethos and beliefs of the Aam Aadmi Party. He said that the said news circulated has a clear mention of “Bargarhi” incident just to tarnish and hurt the religious sentiments of the Sikh religion. It is indicative of notorious activity to instigate religion and caste based violence to harm the communal unity of Punjab.Cheema said that as the party is gearing up for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections so such kind of fake, forged, lascivious and fabricated news has been portrayed to damage the image of the party and the act and conduct of the portal and PTC News shows that there is a deliberate attempt to mislead and instigate the public against the Aam Aadmi Party before the Lok sabha elections and there is a highest possibility that the news portal and PTC News must be working in connivance with the opposition parties.Cheema said that the news items as also the websites of the above accused must be immediately pulled down from the web so that they should stop issuing such fake news items and other fake messages of the alleged WhatsApp group on the social media.
