District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, on Tuesday convened a meeting with the district officers  to review the progress on languishing and mega developmental projects besides action taken report on previous decisions regarding redressal of public issues.The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, CPO, CEO Tourism, Executive Engineers PHE, PMGSY Rajouri/Budhal and  R&B Rajouri and Nowshera, Chief Education Officer, Executive Engineer JKPCC Rajouri and other concerned district officers.The DDC took detailed stock of works being executed in the district and directed the executing agencies for timely completion.A detailed discussion on languishing projects was held and officers of different departments informed the DDC about the number of languishing projects and the pace of progress so far.Executive Engineer PWD informed that there are 8 bridges, of which, the work on 7 will be completed by 31st of March 2019.While taking stock of PHE sector, the DDC was informed that there are 34 schemes which stand approved under languishing projects, of which, 28 projects will be completed by 31st of March 2019.

Similarly, it was informed that there are 13 schemes which stand approved under languishing projects for I&FC besides 9 schemes will be completed by 31st of March, 2019.Under PHE Mechanical, it was informed that all the 43 approved schemes will be completed by 31st of March 2019.As for as raising of bunkers is concerned, it was informed that about 804 individual bunkers have been sanctioned for Rajouri, of which, 53 have been tendered. Besides, out of 215 sanctioned community bunkers 46 have tendered while the work is in progress on other 8.The DDC also approved the languishing projects under District and BADP sector for submission.He stressed prioritizing the completion of major projects including mega projects like GMC Rajouri, Badala Mang bridge, Abdullah bridge, Circular road, Ans Irrigation canal, Degree college at kalakote, Eklaviya Model Residential building at Gurdan Bala.
