Heralding a new era for imparting quality healthcare to people in the government hospitals, the Health and Family Welfare Minister Punjab Brahm Mahindra today inaugurated Super Specialty Clinic at the local Civil Hospital where 40 doctors would render volunteer services to needy patients in super specialty fields.Inaugurating Super Specialty Clinic, the Minister said that people would be provided free consultation in the fields of Urology, Nephrology, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Oncology, Pulmonology, Cancer Surgery, Hepatopancreaticobiliary surgery and neurology. He said that the specialists from Patel, Tagore, Shrimann, Capitol, Sikka, Aggarwal, Sarvodiya, Care Max, Sharanjit and Handa Hospital would render service at Civil Hospital. Mr. Mahindra said that Super Specialty OPD for Cardiology would be available from 10 am to 11 am daily, that of Neurology from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm daily and of Nephrology 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.Likewise, the Minister said that super specialty OPD for gastroenterology would be Monday and Saturday from 1:45 pm to 2:45 pm, that of Cancer surgery (Head and Neck) from 1:45 pm to 2:45pm on Thursday, of Pulmonology on Wednesday and Friday from 1:45 pm to 2:45 pm and of Oncology on Tuesday from 1:45 pm to 2:45 pm. He said that this clinic would be of great help to the poor and needy patients coming in the OPD under single roof at the local Civil Hospital. Mr. Mahindra said that this would facilitate the patients in a big way as they would not have to go to PGI Chandigarh / Medical Colleges for consultations.The Minister further said that the state government has already overcame shortage of the Doctors in the government hospitals by ensuring remunerative salaries to them. He said that the main aim was to ensure that the needy and poor people get quality Healthcare in the government hospitals. Mr. Mahindra also said that the state government was according top priority to health sector.Earlier, the Minister, accompanied by MLA Mr. Pargat Singh, also dedicated the newly constructed Jamsher-Harlo Fraala road to the people. He said that the state government was committed for overall development of the state. On the occasion Deputy Commissioner Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma, Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. NS Mahal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Jitendra Jorwal, Sub Divisional Magistrate Mr. Paramvir Singh, Civil Surgeon Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Medical Superintendent Dr. Jasmeet Bawa, Dr. Tarsem, Dr. TP Singh, Dr. Kashmiri Lal, Dr. Satish, Dr. Kulwinder Kaur and others were also present.
