Bangalore is a very crowded area, but even if you want to spend your weekends peacefully, then there are a few of the places that could be considered a good option. Here is a list of some offbeat destinations near Bangalore, which are ideal for short trips. If you are planning to visit these places from other cities and not Bangalore, you can simply book flight tickets and visit Bangalore and from there begin your journey. 

1.Nandi Hills

The first and foremost place where one can go for a short trip near Bangalore is Nandi hills. These are also called Nandi Durg or Nandi Betta. This is basically a small fort, surrounded by hills all around. The place where this is located is called Chikkabalapur, which is a small district in the state of Karnataka. This place is said to be the origin place of the river Arkhavaty. These hills were called by this name because of the Nandi temple that it has in its bottom. Not just the bottom, there is a temple above the hill also. Both the temples belong to the Lord Nandi and have huge idols of him. Apart from this, like every other hill station, this place too is very beautiful and offers stunning views to its visitors. 

2.Tipu Sultana’s palace

Next in the list is the fort of Tipu Sultana. Haider Ali was the man who started building up this palace, but it was finished by Tipu Sultana. The place is one of the most visited destinations for the weekends and all. It is so beautiful that the construction of it is compared to the haven. One can easily come here from Nandi Hills as both the places are very close to each other. There are many things that one can see inside the palace. The entry of common citizens is allowed here.

3.Skandgiri

Skandgiri is a place 60 Kms away from Bangalore, an ideal destination for spending your weekends. People coming to this place go for trekking up the hills. Once you reach the top apart from the scenic view, you will also get to see the remaining of an old palace. There are a few more structures that one can get to see while on the top. To visit this place, you will have to pay a fee of rupees 450, which is taken by the authorities of the Karnataka government for the maintenance of the place. It is said that this place is ideal to visit during winter time. So, because of its beauty and the historic glory, this place should be on the list of your must-visit places.

4.Brindavan gardens

Next place in the list is Brindavan gardens, which is situated in the City of Mysore. The district in which this garden is located is 143 km away from the city of Bangalore and is named as Mandya. These gardens are one of the best things that the state got during the reign of Tipu Sultana. These are the world’s most beautiful terrace gardens that one can ever witness. Although, it will take a little time to come to this place from Bangalore, when you will see the beauty of it, you yourselves will understand that all the efforts done for this are worthy.So, these were a few of the places near Bangalore, which are ideal for any short trip or weekend.
