The Punjab Government would hold fourth phase of Job Fairs from 13 to 22 February across the state. The Punjab Employment Generation & Technical  Education Minister Charanjit Singh Channi disclosed this here today after presiding over a meeting with the additional Deputy Commissioners to review  the preparations for the State Level Job fairs. ‘Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh would hand over appointment letters to the selected candidates  on 28th February  during State Level Mega Job Fair at DAV University, Jalandhar’, added Channi.Mr. Channi said that in this phase Job Fairs would be  organized at 41 venues across the state in which about 50 thousand job opportunities in Government/Private/Semi Government sector would be  provided to the Youth of the State.The Minister said that the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government is committed to provide  jobs to every household of the state.He said that every Youth of the state would be made self reliant which would empower them. He said this would not  only strengthen the Youth but also eradicate the evil of drugs.Mr. Channi asked the additional Deputy Commissioners & Employment Generation  Department Officers to reach every unemployable Youth to make them participate in Job Fairs.

 He also asked them to ensure that every youth is made employable during the Job Fairs as per their qualification. The Minister also made it clear that  efforts made should not be just be limited to data entries on paper but the work done should reflect in real sense.  He said that the district administration  should tie up with the local industry and provide the manpower as per their requirements during the Job Fairs.The Minister also said that the district  administration to launch an awareness campaign for maximum participation of Youth in the Job Fairs. He said that senior officers should themselves  reach the people for motivating the Youth for this purpose. He further said that the district officers should assist the poor for providing them benefits of  various schemes to start their own business.Other prominent present in the meeting included Mr. DK Tewari Principle Secretary Employment  Generation, Mr. Rahul Tewari Commissioner cum Director Employment Generation, Ms Rajdeep Kaur Additional Director Employment Generation,  Additional Deputy Commissioners and Officers of the employment generation.
