A protest demonstration was held by PHE joint employees association today in view of their demands for regularization of their services and to release  their pending monthly wages.Number of casual workers and daily wagers, led by the Sajad Ahmad Parray, Chairman Kashmir PHE Joint employees  association, assembled at press colony holding placards that read “regularize our services”, “release our pending monthly wages”, “consider working  months instead of payment months” , and “amend SRO 520” Parray, and sought an early redressal of the grave concern. The chairman of the  association while talking to media said that this protest is to remind the promises which government had made with the labours  and daily wagers  working in the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department that their pending wages will be released and their services will be regularized in addition to  an amendment in SRO 520 after implementing 7th pay commission but nothing of such kind has been done till now.“Our job is to provide clean drinking  water to the people of the state and it is the job of government to release our monthly payments on time but to add to our troubles, the government is  doing utter injustice to us by only considering our payment months instead of our working months,” he said. They further said that if their demands are  not met till January 14, they will again protest on January 15 and that would be very severe and large scale.  (PTK)
