The casual labourers of Public Health Engineering (PHE) department on Monday staged a protest in Srinagar to demand their wages, which according to them are pending from past two years. Scores of PHE casual labourers assembled in press enclave and chanted slogans against the Department. The protesters said that they have not been paid for past several months. President of the union, Fayaz Ahmad Malik said that from last 23 months our wages are still pending with the department. “We want release of our long pending wages as soon as possible. We are facing financial problems due to which the studies of our children have affected.” According to KNO correspondent, the protesters requested Governor Satya Pal Malik to look into the matter.(KNO)
