The Animal Husbandry Department on Sunday kick started Foot and Mouth Disease Control Programme (FMD-CP) under the chairmanship of Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sen.The main agenda of the meeting was how to reach and make 100% achievement in this programme and to make it successful. Dr. Sen stressed all the concerned officials to maintain precautions and to adhere cold chain in this regard.He impressed not to keep a single livestock without vaccination and complete the programme within shortest possible time. "Vaccination is the main weapon to safeguard the economy of HUSBANDRY farmers community" CAHO added.He said that farmers must be educated against the myth they posses in this regard. However Maintenance of animal health card and distribution among farmers is to be ensured, he maintained.After threadbare discussions with regards to FMD-CP programme and 20th livestock census, CAHO Kishtwar assured all possible help in case of materials or staff would be mitigated.Vaccines, masks syringes, needles, cotton iglo boxes were provided to the in-charges of each block.Later a vote of thank was delivered by Senior Doctor Dr. Akhtar on this occasion and said that proper inventory list of beneficiaries be submitted countersigned by elected panch/ sarpanches of the concerned locality.He also urged upon the vets to boost up the programme and treat it as a festival.
