While presiding over the State Level Pensioners Day celebration function on the occasion of All India Pensioner’s Day organised by Pensioners Welfare Association at Sundernagar in Mandi today, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the state government would sympathetically consider legitimate demands of the pensioners as they had given their prime for the development of the state.The Chief Minister said that the pensioners had played a major role in development of the state during their service time. It was due to the efforts of the employees that the policies and programmes of the state government could be implemented successfully. He said that even after retirement the pensioners play active role in guiding the government in framing policies and programmes for the development of the state.Jai Ram Thakur said that the present state government soon after assuming the reins of the state has announced several schemes for the welfare of the employees and pensioners. He said that all the legitimate demands of the employees have been fulfilled.

Local MLA Rakesh Jamwal while welcoming the Chief Minister to his home constituency urged the Chief Minister to accept the long pending demands of the pensioners of the state.President State Pensioners Welfare Association State H.R. Vishisht while welcoming the Chief Minister also detailed various demands of the association on the occasion. He urged the Chief Minister to do away with the 5-10-15 criteria for the pensioners.General Secretary of the association Hari Chand Gupta presented vote of thanks.President of Mandi District Pensioner’s Welfare Association Hari Sharma also welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion.Earlier the Chief Minister was presented a Cheque of Rs. 14,38,400 by Chairperson AAPI Charitable Trust Dr. Chander M. Kapasi. The Pensioner Welfare Association also presented a Cheque of Rs. 1.25 lakh towards the CMRF. Several individuals and associations also contributed towards the CMRF.MP Ram Swaroop Sharma, MLAs J.R.Katwal, Inder Singh Gandhi, Hira Lal, Vinod Kumar and Jawahar Thakur, Chairman MILKFED Nihal Singh were present on the occasion among others.
