DIPR organizes symposium on ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’

The Department of Information and Public Relations, organized a symposium competition on the theme ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’ at Government Higher Secondary School, Salmerhi, here today.Principal of the host school, R.S Gandral was the chief guest while District Information Officer, Sajad Bashir Somberia presided over the function on the occasion. Around 12 participants of the institution took part in the competition and expressed their views on the topic.While addressing the students, the chief guest highlighted the importance of Swachhta and urged upon the students to spread the message of cleanliness among the common masses. He said cleanliness is not the responsibility of only few people but it is collective responsibility of all as a society. He called upon the people especially the youth to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in and around their surroundings.During the Competition, Mehak of class 10th stood first while Simran Devi of class 11th and Anuradha of class 10th bagged second and third position respectively. Besides, Sneha Sharma of class 12th and Rachna of class 9th were given consolation prizes.Meanwhile, the DIO said that the aim of organizing such contests in the school is to create awareness among the students regarding cleanliness and sanitation. He urged upon the students to spread the message of Swachhta hi Seva.A Swachhta pledge was also administered to all the participants on the occasion.Later, the chief guest distributed mementoes and certificates among the participants.
