On the Armed Forces Flag Day, officials of Himachal Pradesh Sainik Welfare Department called on Governor Acharya Devvrat at Raj Bhawan Shimla, today. Brig S.K. Verma, Director, Sainik Welfare pinned Armed Forces Flag to the Governor. The Governor contributed rupees 5100 for the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund on this occasion.On the occasion, the Governor said that our armed forces would always remain the pride of our nation and we salute and pay respect to the courage, bravery and supreme sacrifice of our soldiers. He said that it was our duty towards the brave soldiers who were protecting the boundaries of the country, to take care of their families and also towards the soldiers who had sacrificed their lives for the protection and integrity of the motherland and to provide help and relief to their dependents.“The brave soldiers of the State are the pride of our armed forces and it becomes even more important that we should contribute generously to this great work”, he said.He appealed to all to donate generously to honour the martyr and men in uniform who valiantly fought on borders to safeguard the country’s honour.
