DDC reviews progress of Ayushman Bharat in Bandipora

Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Shahid Iqbal Chowdhary Thursday convened a meeting to review the progress of Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) at Mini-secretariat Bandipora.Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Chief Medical Officer, Bandipora Dr Bilkees Mir, Block Medical Officers, CSC operators and concerned officials attended the meeting.The meeting discussed threadbare the progress of the registration of beneficiaries and the issues faced by the CSC operators during the implementation of the project.It was given out in the meeting that there are 16000 households identified under Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) 2011 consisting of about 96000 individuals who are entitled to be covered under the scheme in the district.The meeting was informed that 120 Common Service Centres (CSCs) and Khidmat centres across the district are currently enrolling beneficiaries under the scheme.The CSC officials are being aided by the officials of Health Department, Asha workers, Anganwadi workers and other allied staff to ensure no entitled family is left behind.

The Ayushman Bharat scheme is targeted at poor, deprived rural families and identified occupational category of urban workers' families and entitles beneficiaries to a defined benefit cover of 5 lac rupees per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization.While expressing concern over the slow pace of progress of the scheme, DDC Bandipora stressed upon concerned departments to work in tandem and close coordination with each other and mobilize their field functionaries to complete the registration process, disseminate the awareness at the villages and Mohalla level, so that eligible beneficiaries get enrolled within the stipulated time.He also emphasized upon CSC operators to take the registration processt on priority so that target is achieved before December, 15.Dr Shahid Iqbal Chowdhary also directed to provide all required facilities to the field staff including Computers, internet facility and other equipments to ensure smooth registration process.
