To commemorate adoption of Constitution of India, the National Law Day also known as Samvidhan Diwas was today observed in various parts of Jammu Division with great fervor and enthusiasm .District Legal Services Authority, Jammu under the Chairmanship of its Chairman Vinod Chatterji Koul, (Principal District & Sessions Judge), celebrated the Constitution Day. Senior Civil Judge cum Secretary, Legal Services Authority Naushad Ahmad Khan, conducted proceedings of the programme.The event was among others attended by all the Judicial Officers, Prosecutors, Advocates, Retainer Lawyers, Para Legal Volunteers and staff members. Besides, V.C. Koul, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Jammu, those who spoke on the occasion included Virinder Singh Bhau, 2nd  Additional District & Sessions Judge, Yahya Firdous Ahangar, Special Railway Magistrate.At Udhampur, the District Legal Services Authority, observed the national Day under the supervision of Principal District and Sessions Judge, (Chairman DLSA) Sanjay Parihar .

The programme was among others attended by Deputy Commissioner  Ravinder Kumar, Additional Session Judge  C.L Bavouria  , Sub Judge (CJM) Balbir Lal Jaswal, Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Sandeep Kour (Sub-Judge), Secretary DLSA ,  Romesh Lal, SSP  Rayees Ahmed Bhat besides senior advocates and Bar President J.D Salathia .Throwing light on the importance of the Day, Sanjay Parihar  said “The day reminds us of our dedication to serve the society, particularly the poor and downtrodden sections of the society to ensure justice to all and take all steps to provide inexpensive and speedy justice to under-trials, which is their constitutional right”,Deputy Commissioner, Bar President J.D Slathia and Advocate Bharat Bhushan Sharma   highlighted the importance of Constitutional Day. They stressed that we should re-dedicate ourselves towards cause of the society,AT POONCH, the District Legal Services Authority celebrated Constitution Day which was presided over by District Principal and Session Judge besides District Mobile Magistrate Traffic, President Bar association and advocates attended the event.The Speakers highlighted the significance of this National Law Day saying that the objective of celebrating this Day as Constitution Day is to disseminate the knowledge and principles of our Constitution.

On the occasion, rich tributes were paid to Dr B R Ambedkar who was the main architect of the Constitution of India.At Bhaderwah, an awareness camp marked the celebration of “Constitution Day” at District Court Complex Bhaderwah which was held under the chairmanship of Principal District and Session Judge, Pawan Dev Kotwal.District Secretary DLSA, Mudassar Farooq and Advocate Manjeet Razdan and Advocate Majid Malik spoke on the importance of this National Day.At Ramban, the Day was celebrated in various government and private educational institutions across the district.In this connection, a programme was organised in the Government Higher Secondary School, Gool which was attended by the teaching staff, students SDM Gool, Pankaj Bagotra read out the preamble of Indian Constitution.Similar programmes were also held in the Government Higher Secondary School, Batote, Government Higher Secondary School, Ramban and the Bhartiya Vidya Mandir High School, Ramban.
