Chief Secretary B.K Agarwal today honoured renowned poet Vinod Vitthal with Yuva Shikhar Sahitya Samman-2018 during a function organised here on Sunday by Shikhar organisation. Vinod Vithhal, who is presently working with a corporate sector company in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, was earlier associated with journalism.Speaking on this occasion, the Chief Secretary said that the Himachal government is committed to promote literature, art and culture and various initiatives have been taken in this direction. He said litterateurs are known as the mirror of the society and they play a pivotal role in giving positive direction and perspective to the society. He said that literature has no limits and the writers give their free viewpoint about the happenings of the society in every sphere.
B.K Agarwal said that Shikhar organisation has been playing an important role in taking forward the literary activities and promoting the young talent in the state for past many decades.He expressed happiness that the writers of Himachal Pradesh have earned the name for the state at national level through their creative literary works. He assured that the state government would provide all possible assistance to the writers in carrying forward their literary work.Vinod Vitthal recited his few poems on this occasion, which were well appreciated by the audience.Genral Secretary of the Shikhar organisation Keshav Narayan detailed about the activities of the organisation.President, Shikhar organisation Dinesh Malhotra, former Director of HP Information and Public Relations department B.D Sharma, senior litterateurs Shrinivas Shrikant, Shrinivas Joshi, K.R Bharti, Sudershan Bisht, S.R Harnot, Sonia Thakur, Aatma Ram Ranjan, Kul Rajiv Pant, Kanchan Sharma, Meenakshi Faith Paul, Bharti Kuthiala also recited their poems during the programme.
