Governor Acharya Devvrat inaugurated the All India inter- university women's Kabaddi championship here today at the Centre of Excellence College, Sanjauli which would conclude on November 24.The Governor while congratulating the organizers for organizing this national level championship for the first time in Shimla said that 'Mini India' could be seen through this event where 16 teams across the country were participating. He said that games always create excitement, emotions and liveliness and the players should play every sport with a spirit of true sportsmanship.“The objective of sports event is to awaken the younger generation for good health and discipline”, said Acharya Devvrat.He expressed hope that sports lovers would witness good Kabaddi tournament and all teams would put in their best.Director Sports, Himachal Pradesh University Prof. Surendra Sharma introduced the players to the Governor.The Governor watched match played between the Savitri Bai Phule, Pune and Himachal Pradesh University teams.Principal, Sanjauli college Dr. C.B Mehta welcomed the Governor on the occasion.
