MLA Sultanpur Lodhi Navtej Singh Cheema and Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala Mohammed Tayyab today said that the district administration would make elaborate arrangements for state level function organised by state government here to mark the parkash purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on November 23.Presiding over a meeting to review the arrangements here today, the MLA and Deputy Commissioner said that Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh would preside over the function to be held at local grain market. They said that the Chief Minister would launch his government’s year-long celebrations to commemorate the 550th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji by laying foundation stone of several development projects in the holy city of Sultanpur Lodhi.The MLA and Deputy Commissioner said that the thrust would be laid by administration to ensure that thousands of people converging on the occasion do not face any sort of problem. They also asked the officers/ officials to ensure that all the arrangements for the event were made properly, so that this event was a huge success. They also cautioned that any sort of laxity on part of officers/ officials in this event was totally unwarranted and undesirable.

The MLA and Deputy Commissioner also said that elaborate arrangements for parking and regulation of traffic during the function. They asked the Police department to meticulously prepare the route plan for smooth and hassle free movement of traffic during the event. They said that provision of separate parking should be made for the Ministers, dignitaries and other people participating in the event.The MLA and Deputy Commissioner said that adequate arrangements for the food would also be made for the people arriving at the event. They also said that no stone would be left unturned for making this gala event a huge success.Prominent amongst others present on the occasion included Additional Deputy Commissioners Mr Rahul Chaba, Mr Avtar Singh Bhullar and Ms Babita Kler, Sub Divisional Magistrates Dr Charumita, Dr Nayan Bhullar and Mr GS Dhillon, Assistant Commissioner Dr Shikha Bhagat, District Revenue Officer Mr PS Sahota and others.
