CUK students demand release of their peers arrested by police in nocturnal raid

Scores of students of Central University of Kashmir (CUK) Monday staged a protest march to demand release of their peers detained by the government forces.Reports said that a large number of students from CUK Nowgam assembled here in Press Enclave Srinagar and appealed government to release two University students arrested by Forces during nocturnal raid a couple of days ago. The protesting students said that two political science students, identified as Suhail Ahmed from Shopian and Muhammad Ismail from Baramulla were detained by the government forces from their rented accommodation near the varsity.They said both the arrested students are innocent and have picked up for the fault of their none. “We have been boycotting our classes from past couple of days. Despite registering protests, the authorities are in no mood to release the arrested students whose career is on stake,” the protesting students told news agency CNS.
