FIDD, Chandigarh organized a Town Hall meeting for MSME Entrepreneurs at Mohali. The meeting was chaired by Smt. Rachna Dikshit, Regional Director, RBI, Punjab, Haryana & UT Chandigarh. Mr. Anil Kumar Yadav, General Manager, Reserve Bank of India, Mr. Sukhbir Singh Birdi, Deputy General Manager, State Bank of India, Mr. Gokul Chand Sharma, Deputy General Manager, State Bank of India, Mr. Prashant Sardar, Deputy General Manager, SIDBI, Mr. Akash Agarwal, QCI, Mr. Ravinder Chandla, Regional Director, ASSOCHAM, Mr. V.K. Kashyap, RSETI, representatives of various Industrial associations and officials of banks active in the region, attended the meeting.About 50 MSME entrepreneurs from different industries in Mohali, such as Advanced Machining Cluster, Engineering Units, many units of steel, various metal units and Auto Industries, attended the Town Hall meeting.Senior Bankers from Controlling offices and MSME branches of the area also attended the Town Hall Meeting.Regional Director in his address emphasized that the purpose of the town hall meeting was to create awareness about the bank schemes for lending to MSME customers and also resolve the issues between bankers and entrepreneurs by bringing them together in a common platform. 

He urged the banking fraternity to have an empathetic approach in dealing with the MSME borrowers and provide timely and adequate finance to these units. He advised the bankers to disseminate information regarding various MSME loan products to the entrepreneurs.A representative from the Quality Council of India (QCI) addressed all participants on the topic "Zero Effect Zero Defect". SIDBI official gave information about the new portal “www.psbloansin59minutes.com” launched by them. Under this, the entrepreneur can apply for loan even from home.Officials from PNB and ICICI Bank also gave information about schemes / cashless banking available to their own MSME entrepreneurs.During the interactive session, specific queries raised by entrepreneurs were responded to byShri anil Kumar Yadav, GM, Financial Inclusion & Development Department,Mr. Sukhbir Singh Birdi, Deputy General Manager, State Bank of India,and other bankers. Industry Associations lauded the initiatives taken by RBI in promotion of MSMEs in the country.Bankers expressed their willingness to provide full support to the sector.
