Greenwood High Student wins gold at 36th State Cadet, Junior and Senior Kyorugi Taekwondo Championship 2018

Arnav Jabulee a Grade 9th, IGCSE student of Greenwood High International School has secured a gold medal at the 36th State Cadet, Junior and Senior Kyorugi Taekwondo Championship 2018. The event was organized by the Karnataka Taekwondo Association recently at R.L. Jalappa Institute of Technology, Doddaballapura . At the competition, Arnav won all 4 bouts, including the semi-final and final bouts, in his category - Cadet Male (Under 49 kg). He also won the initial 3 bouts, including the semi-final, in the first round itself. Despite having sustained an arm injury, Arnav prevailed in the final bout which was extended to a 4th golden or tie breaker round where he  defeated Yashas. P from Tumkur and won the competition with a score of 4-2.Earlier this year, Arnav had won a gold medal in the Pumsae cadet male group category at the State championship in August.  This presents Arnav a rare honour to represent Karnataka in both the Pumsae (i.e form/movement displays) and the Kyorugi (sparring/fighting) competitions at the national championships.
