State succeeds in getting Rs. 9000 crore developmental projects from centre : Jai Ram Thakur

While addressing a largely attended public meeting at Gorkhuwala in Paonta Sahib Vidhan Sabha segment of Sirmour district today, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the state government had succeeded in getting developmental projects worth Rs 9000 crore sanctioned for the state from the union government during the short period of about ten months.Jai Ram Thakur said that people of Sirmour district played a major role in forming the BJP government in the State. He said that during the last ten months, special trust had been laid on development of those areas which remained neglected during the previous state government’s tenure.The Chief Minister said that the country was fortunate to have Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister of the country as under his able and dynamic leadership, the nation was poised to become the world leader. The Prime Minister was committed to double the income of farmers of the country by the year 2022 and the union government was also determined to provide house to every homeless by the year 2022.He said that the Prime Minister provided seven helicopters to airlift stranded people in Lahaul valley due to untimely snow in the recent past. He said that 252 people were airlifted safely to Kullu and around 800 school children were also safely rescued from Holi in Chamba district.Jai Ram Thakur said that the state government was ensuring that every household get gas connection by the end of the next year for which free gas connections were being provided under the Mukhya Mantri Grihini Suvidha Yojana. He said that Jan Manch programme of the state government was proving a boon to the people of the state for redressal of their grievances. 

Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated Tehsil office building at Paonta Sahib constructed at a cost of Rs 1.25 crore. He said that this would immensely facilitate the people of the area.He also inaugurated lift irrigation  schemes of village Ajoli-Nariwala-Jawalapur,  of left out habitations of village Upper Kanshipur and Kishankot and Village Muglonwala Kartarpur constructed by spending an amount of Rs. 2.13 crore, Rs. 2.03 crore and Rs. 1.40 crore respectively. He said that all these schemes would be provide irrigation facilities to 376.74 hectare area.He laid foundation stone of two box cell bridges over Khodonwala Khala and Mehruwala Khala to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 80 lakh.The Chief Minister opened HPSEBL Sub-Division at Puruwala. He said that four sections of Puruwala, Rajpura, Bangani and Bhungarni had been connected with this Sub-Division. This would ensure better power supply to Trans Giri area of the district benefiting over 55,000 people. He said that revenue of rupees one crore would be collected monthly by this electric Sub- Division.The Chief Minister announced primary health centre at Amargarh and Ghorkhuwala, upgradation of high school Mugalawala to senior secondary school, starting of Science classes at senior secondary school Ghorkhuwala, providing additional amount of Rs. 2 crore for construction of building of Government College Bareli, starting of PG classes in English and Political Science in Guru Govind Singh Degree College Paonta Sahib and Rs. 70 lakh for construction and maintenance of different link roads of the area. He said that matter of opening ITI at Amboya would be considered sympathetically.

Member of Parliament Virender Kashyap in his address thanked the Chief Minister for ensuring balanced development of the state. He also thanked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for showing special benevolence towards the state and its people. He said that the present state government during the short period of about ten months had ensured balanced and all-round development of the state.He said that it was unfortunate that the previous government failed to utilise funds provided by the centre government. He said that the union government has sanctioned 70 new national highways for the State, but the previous government failed to even prepare detailed project reports for these highways.Local MLA Sukh Ram Chaudhary said that the area was completed neglected in matter of development during the tenure of the previous government. He said that all the developmental projects dedicated today by the Chief Minister were started by the previous BJP state government. He thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating developmental projects worth crores of rupees.Speaker Dr. Rajiv Bindal, MLA Suresh Kashyap, Vice Chairman Civil Supplies Corporation Baldev Tomar, Chairman Agriculture Marketing Board and President State BJP Kissan Morcha Baldev Bhandari, Former MLA Fateh Singh and General Secretary State BJP Chander Mohan Thakur were present on the occasion among others.
