Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, who was on two-day visit to the Sirmour district, today visited Valmiki Temple at Paonta Sahib on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti and paid obeisance.Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Bhagwan Valmiki was a source of inspiration and learning for everyone in the society. He said that it was Bhagwan Valmiki who wrote Valmiki Ramayana, the main scripture of Hindu religion.The Chief Minister announced that the Balmiki Nallah would be covered as soon as the land would be acquired. He also announced Rs 3 lakh for completion of the Valmiki temple complex.He also visited Gurudwara Sahib and paid obeisance. He was presented Siropa by the Gurudwara Management Committee.Speaker, Vidhan Sabha Dr. Rajiv Bindal, MP Virender Kashyap, MLA's Sukh Ram Chaudhary and Suresh Kashyap, Vice Chairman, Civil Supplies Corporation Baldev Tomar, General Secretary State BJP Chander Mohan Thakur and Deputy Commissioner Sirmour Lalit Jain were present on the occasion among others.
