Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue & Disaster Management) Manisha Nanda has issued an advisory to all Deputy Commissioners of the state to ensure better preparation in crowd management in order to avoid any tragedy in the state especially during big events like fairs and festivals like Kullu Dusherra and Diwali celebrations etc.Manisha Nanda today told that she was in constant touch with Deputy Commissioner, Kullu about crowd management plan before the beginning of Kullu Dusshera festival and he has done proper drill and issued necessary orders. She said that all officers should be prepared for the worst but think of the best so that we were always strategizing ahead and plans for worst case scenario could be executed.

She said that elaborate arrangements and preparations should be made for Diwali celebrations for allotment of Diwali stalls, checking fire brigade readiness, preparation of lists of home guards, volunteers, blood donors and Beopar Mandals, hospital and police readiness besides involvement of NGOs and civil society. She said that it should be ensured that not even a single incident happens in the state and if something goes wrong, proper plans should be in place for execution.Manisha Nanda directed all the Deputy Commissioners to hold detailed meetings with all concerned SDMs, BDOs, Xens of both PWD and IPH, Police and CMO and other stakeholders. She asked the Divisional Commissioners to keep supervision and give their valuable suggestions to avoid any untoward incident.
