Senior Secondary School Baragaon would be named after Kargil martyr late Satish Kumar as ‘Saheed Satish Kumar Senior Secondary School, Baragaon’. This was stated by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while presiding over the closing ceremony of Kabaddi and Volleyball tournament organised by Himalayan Tiger Foundation, Kumarsain at Darbaar ground at Kumarsain in Shimla district today.The Chief Minister said that he himself comes from a humble background thus was well aware of the needs and aspiration of the common man. He said that soon after assuming the office, the State Government made several historic decisions for development of every area of the State and welfare of every section of the society. He said that although the State was small in size, but still it has emerged a role model of development for several bigger States of the country.Jai Ram Thakur said that it was essential that all the welfare and development oriented schemes of the State get people’s support. He said that nine months tenure of the present State Government have been dedicated towards the overall development of the State. The only objective of the State Government during this period had remained overall development of the State, he added.The Chief Minister said that the State Government has succeeded to get financial assistance of about Rs. 9000 crore from the Centre for development of the State. He said that the previous State Government left a financial burden of over Rs. 46,500 crore due to their financial mismanagement on the State exchequer. He said that they opened educational and health institutions without adequate budge provisions. He said that the first decision made by the present State Government in its very first cabinet was lowering the minimum age limit for old age pension without income limit from 80 years to 70 years.

Jai Ram Thakur said that the Centre Government was fully concerned about the developmental requirements of the State. He said that special benevolence of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ensured that the State forges ahead on the path of progress and prosperity. He said that thousands of people got stranded in Lahaul valley due to the recent unpredicted snowfall at Lahaul Spiti and Union Government provided seven helicopters for airlifting all the stranded people and due to this timely assistance from the Centre all the people were rescued safely from Lahaul Valley and Chamba.The Chief Minister said that Jan Manch Programme was proving a boon to the people of the State. He said that till date five Jan Manch had been organised in different parts of the State and as many as 15000 grievances and complaints of the people had been redressed on the spot. He said that under the Mukhiya Mantri Grahani Suvidha Yojana free gas connections were being provided to all the eligible families of the State and the endeavour of the State Government was to ensure gas connection to every household within a year.The Chief Minister announced Rs. 33 lakh for construction of different link roads of the area and announced the construction of bus stand and parking at Kumarsain. He announced that a modern Sabzi Mandi would be constructed at Kumarsain in order to facilitate the fruit and vegetable growers. He also announced Rs. 51000 from his discretionary fund to the organisers of the tournament.

The Chief Minister also distributed prizes to the winners of various events organised during the tournament.Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated new ITI building at Kumarsain completed  at a cost of Rs. 7.81 crore.  He also visited the famous Hatu Mata Temple at Narkanda and performed Puja. He also envisaged keen interest in development of the temple complex.Enroute from Shimla to Narkanda, the Chief Minister was accorded with rousing welcome at Theog and Matiyana by MLA Jubbal-Kotkhai and Chief Whip State BJP Narinder Bragta, MLA Chopal Balbir Verma, MLA Theog Rakesh Singha, Chairman HP State Cooperative Bank Khushi Ram Balnahta, Chairman APMC Shimla-Kinnaur Naresh Sharma, other senior party functionaries and hundreds of general public. Chief Minister also ensured that the developmental works which had come to standstill during the previous tenure would be expedited and completed at the earliest.Several social, cultural and political organisations welcomed the Chief Minister. He was weighed with coins by the Bopara Mandal Kumarsain on the occasion.Member of Parliament Virender Kashyap said that the present State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur was ensuring development of all areas of the State with special focus on those areas which have remained neglected so far. 

He also thanked the Chief Minister for starting Jan Manch Programme for the State which has helped the common people in redressing of their grievances nearer to their homes. He also announced Rs. 25 lakh for developmental works in the area from MP Fund.MLA Rakesh Singha also welcomed the Chief Minister and detailed various demands of this constituency. Chairman APMC Shimla-Kinnaur Naresh Sharma also welcomed the Chief Minister and others present of the occasion.Member BJP working Committee Sandeepni Bhardwaj while welcoming the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion detailed various developmental demands of the area. He also thanked the Chief Minister for inaugurating the New ITI building at Kumarsain. He said that this ITI was a gift of then BJP Government in 2002, but due to political apathy the building took such a long time for completion. He also urged the Chief Minister for construction Bus stand and parking at Kumarsain.President Himalayan Tiger Foundation Kumarsain Vishal Verma and Secretary of the Foundation Rakesh Khachi welcomed the Chief Minister.MLA Chopal Balbir Verma, MLA Theog Rakesh Singha, Chairman HP State Co-operative Bank Khushi Ram Balnahta, OSDs to the Chief Minister Mahinder Dharmani and Shishu Dharma, BJP leaders Dr. Pramod Sharma and Shashi Bala, District BJP President Ajay Shayam, Deputy Commissioner Shimla Amit Kashyap, SP Shimla Omapati Jamwal were present on the occasion among others.
