Jai Ram Thakur announces to create posts of Honorary Assistant Sub Inspectors

Proposal under consideration for setting up Police Training Academy in Shimla

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today said that the posts of Honorary Assistant Sub Inspectors would be created in the state police department. Under this decision, the Head Constables and Honorary Head Constables completing 32 years of service would be appointed as Honorary Assistant Sub Inspectors.He said that a proposal was also under the consideration to set up a Police Training Academy at Bharari in Shimla.The Chief Minister said that this decision would benefit around 500 police personnel and it would put a burden of Rs. 8.30 lakh annually to the state exchequer. Honorary Assistant Sub Inspectors would be given Rs. 200 per month as special pay and all personnel completing 32 years of service would get a chance to retire from the post of Honorary Assistant Sub Inspectors. He said there were more than 70 percent Constables and Honorary Head Constables in the state police force.Jai Ram Thakur said that a proposal was under consideration to set up Police Training Academy at Bharari in Shimla for providing training to gazetted officers of the state police. It would be second such academy in the state after Droh in Kangra district and with setting up of this academy in Shimla, the police officers would not have to go for training to neighbouring states.DGP S.R Mardi and other senior officers of the sgtate police department were also present on the occasion.
