RBIS students visit Chhat Bir to study wildlife

Students of the Rayat Bahra International School visited the Chhat Bir, near here, as part of the National Wildlife Week celebrations. The school children were amused to see lions, deer running around and a large species of birds.Teachers accompanying the students explained to them various aspects of wildlife and also the necessity to celebrate wildlife week to protect the wild animals whose many species were gradually extinct.  The students were told about the need for conservation and protection of wildlife.  The theme of this year’s wildlife week celebrations is `Big cats – Predators under Threat’.Ablisha Singh, Principal of the school, said it was a valuable experience for the school children as they got to see the habitat of the wild creatures.The National Wildlife Week connects budding conservationists of all ages to the awesome wonders of wildlife. Now more than ever, these connections serve as a vital component to recovering the nation’s most vulnerable wildlife.
