Protest erupted in Leh region of Jammu Kashmir against policemen who are allegedly involved in the molestation of girl students.  Reports said that majority of the shopkeepers and locals staged a protest and closed their business demanding the release of those who according to people were arrested by police to save the girls when policemen in plain clothes tried to molest them near SBI building Leh.Ladakh Buddhist Association Women’s Wing, Anjuman Moin-ul-Islam Womens Wing, Anjuman Imamia Womens Wing and Christian Association’s Women’s Wing in a written communiqué has stated that action should be taken against DySP Suraj Singh for shielding two of his policemen and filing a case against those who saved the girl students from losing dignity.These associations have alleged that DySP Headquarter Leh Suraj Singh not only refused to register an FIR against the two policemen but he thrashed booked those individuals who save the girl students. They demanded an action against the culprits and release of innocent youth in the interest of peace and harmony. (CNS)
