The Governor of Punjab, V.P. Singh Badnore, while presiding over a function organised by the S.S. Jain Sabha, here today said that the contribution of the Jainism in spreading the message of peace and harmony in the country is unmatched. He called upon other such organisations to spread similar massages so as to evolve a healthy, peaceful and progressive society.The Governor was also conferred with the title of Sher-e-Rajasthan by the S.S.Jain Samaj of Raikot. Appreciating the contribution of the Jainism in the field of education, the Governor said the Jain Samaj has not only been contributing towards elevating the downtrodden and economically weaker sections of the society but also effectively working in the nation building tasks, is worth appreciating.Terming the Jain Samaj as an apostle of Peace and harmony, the Governor made a fervent appeal to other sections of the society to come forward and ensure comprehensive growth in the state. He congratulated the Jain Guru Rajesh Muni Ji on his 1500th Abhigrah and thanked and welcomed Sh. Rajender Muni Ji on his visit to Punjab.Followers of Jain Samaj from all parts of the state and also from abroad were present on the occasion. Prominent amongst others who addressed the august gathering included Mr. Amar Singh Boparai former IAS and Sh. Lalit Jain President S.S.Jain Sabha Raikot.
