As a part of ongoing Swachhta Hi Seva fortnightly campaign, the District Development Commissioner, Ravinder Kumar today inaugurated renovated Community Sanitary Complex there.Addressing the public, the DDC elaborated the aims and objectives of the sanitation drive and appealed the public to vow for cleanliness and greening of their villages through active participation. He called upon the public for discarding the use of polythene, maintaining hygiene, eliminating open defecation, keeping water resources clean and plantation in the villages for a holistic clean environment. He further said that the main motive of this campaign is to create mass aware regarding Swachh Bharat Mission.The DDC informed that in upper Panchayat Rehmbal of block Udhampur two sanitary complexes on highway were in very bad condition which have been renovated by Rural Development in two days followed by beautiful paintings by school and college students. This whole exercise is a part of Swachhta hi seva campaign in block Udhampur.After inauguration, the DDC handed over the community sanitary complex to general public and asking them for its proper maintenance and upkeep. He said these toilets were taken over from RDD and were in dilapidated conditions which were renovated for public use with good specifications.Among others present were Assistant Commissioner Development, Noor Alam Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Rachna Sharma Executive Engineers PHE, Ashok Sharma, Block Development Officer, Rupali Vaid and other Officers/Officials of concerned department besides large number of prominent citizens.
