Two days folk media workshop organized by the Information and Public Relations department concluded at HIPA near Shimla today. Speaking on the occasion Director I&PR Anupam Kashyap said that this workshop was organised to apprise artists about developmental policies and programmes of the state government so that they could make the people aware about various welfare schemes through Nukkad Nataks and folk music. He said that in the changing scenario folk media still has special place and this art has the potential to imprint its impression on the masses.While lauding the efforts of the artists Kashyap said that the artists are the master of their art and have the capacity to publicize government policies amongst people. He advised the artists to work harder as the artists have the natural flair of learning from one another and with this healthy competition their talent also improves. He hope that the two day workshop organized by the department would prove beneficial for the folk media groups and this would be their responsibility to carry this information to the people. He was confident that after this workshop the folk media groups would be able to successfully transmit government policies to the people in a better way and then only the objective of this workshop would be realized. 

On the second day of the workshop the officers of the various departments addressed the   folk media groups and apprised them about the policies and the programmes of the government.SP (Narcotics) Shubhra Tiwari gave the detailed information about the various laws regarding drug abuse.  Shubra Tiwari said that in order to eradicate  drug abuse from society the contribution of every section of the society is must and the folk media has the capacity to extend this information to the society in an effective manner.General Manager Horticulture Department  Yogesh Gupta gave information about various programme srelated to horticulture. He discussed "Mukhyamantri Swavlamban Yojna" and said that with the help of folk media groups this scheme should be publicized in every village of the state. Deputy Director Food and Civil Supply Department Ravinder Kumar gave presentation about Grihani Suvidha Yajna. He said that this goverment scheme is very popular and the objective of the government is  that no family should be left without gas connection.As many as 53 folk media groups participated in the workshop. Joint Director HIPA Jyoti Rana and Joint Director I&PR Mahesh Pathania were also present on this occasion.
