Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, inaugurated the Health and Wellness Centre at Primary Health Centre (PHC), Salwan in district Karnal today. This centre has been set up under the Ayushmaan Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana (PM-JAY). Ayushmaan Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana is a far reaching initiative aimed at ensuring holistic health care services. The first component of this scheme is the expansion of services with element of promotive and preventive health care under comprehensive primary health through Health and Wellness Centres (HWC). The HWC is the key component of the Ayushmaan Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (PM-JAY).As many as 22 HWCs have been operationalised in the State in which 12 dedicated free health services would be made available. These services included Care in pregnancy and childbirth Neonatal and infant health care, Childhood and adolescent health care services, Family planning, Contraceptive services and other Reproductive Health Care Services , Management of Communicable diseases National Health Programme, Management of Common Communicable Diseases and General Out-patient care for acute simple illness and minor ailments , Screening, Prevention, Control and Management of Non-Communicable diseases, Screening and basic management of Mental health ailments, Care for Common Ophthalmic and ENT problems , Basic Oral health care , Elderly and Palliative health care services and Emergency Medical Services.
