Secretary Social Welfare, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone, today paid a surprise visit to Budgam and took stock of departmental functioning besides inspecting various departmental centres in the district.Director Social Welfare Kashmir, State Mission Director ICDS, J&K, State Mission Director ICPS, J&K, ADC/District Programme Officer (ICDS) Budgam and other concerned officers accompanied the Secretary.Dr Lone visited Markazi Falahi Khawateen (MFK) Chadoora, Markazi Falahi Itfaal (MFI) Khansahab, and Anganwadi centres in Chadoora, Panzan, and Ichgam.On the occasion, Secretary asked the concerned that nutritional supplies should immediately be delivered at all the Anganwadi centres to ensure the presence of target group of beneficiaries in the Anganwadi centres.He also directed for preparation of estimates in consultation with Executive Engineer R&B for repairs and renovation of MFI building at Khansahab.Dr Lone also called for ensuring three-wheeler scooters at MFI Khansahib are immediately distributed among the deserving persons.The Secretary asked the officers to gear up their field functionaries to ensure the benefit of the welfare schemes of the Department reaches to the target groups at grass root level.
