DIPR holds symposium on “threat of Drug addiction’

Department of Information & Public Relations today organized a symposium on the topic “Drug Addiction- a big threat to the society’ here at Modern High School Dhanori.Principal of the School, Joginder Kour was the chief guest.Around 16 students of the host school participated in the contest and threw light on the topic and shared their views regarding the social and health risks of Drug addiction.Suhani Sharma of class 8th clinched 1st position while Naman Sharma of class 10th and Mhashwar Singh of class 7th bagged 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. Besides, Sumdisha of class 2nd and Sakshi Devi of class 7th were given consolation prizes.While addressing the students, the Chief Guest highlighted the adverse affects of drug addiction on the human health and society. He appreciated the tireless efforts made by Information Department for organizing this competition adding that such events in the educational institutions greatly help in educating the young generation about social evils and challenges.  He urged the department to organize more such programmes in future.Later the Principal gave away prizes and certificates to the participants.Amit Kumar, Rimpy Bajayal , and Sapna   acted as judgesThe students and teachers took a pledge that they will say no to drugs and work to make society drug addiction free.
